2023 YC NASA Student Launch

NASA Student Launch is one of the top competitive rocketry programs in the United States, and one that I'm happy to report is the top echelon of Rocketry at Yamhill Carlton High School. Students in this program spend 9 months designing, defending, testing, building and flying a rocket according to incredibly rigorous design requirements from NASA. This culminates in a trip to NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL where they launch alongside 70+ high school and university teams from across the US.

This process consists of 5 Milestones - Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review, Flight Readiness Review, Launch Readiness Review and Post Launch Assessment Review. In addition to this, student teams must submit a proposal in early September, and have that proposal be selected. Typically, roughly 75 high school teams are eligible to propose, and 15-20 are selected alongside 60+ university teams. 

Last year, Yamhill Carlton High School students wrote over 400 pages of reports, spent over 2000 man hours on the project, and fund raised over $17,000 to support the project. Take a look through this year's milestone documents thus far this year, and if this sounds like a project you'd like to support please reach out - additional fundraising menus and documents can be found below.
