It is a plain and simple fact that students can learn faster than we can teach them. In that spirit,  7th and 8th grade STEM students will be exposed to a a variety of 21st century tools designed to teach them the basics of our mechanical and digital world, with an emphasis on taking ideas from concept to prototype. Students in this course will find themselves less instructed and more encouraged to fail spectacularly. They will learn how to break down large tasks into manageable frameworks, how to collaborate efficiently in a team and how to learn from their failures. At the same time, students will be reinforcing their mathematical skills through application, follow the path of the scientific method while exploring unknowns, learn about the Research and Design loop critical to the engineering world as they create complex projects, and lastly practice public speaking skills in presenting their results.
